After a long drive involving tedium, homocidal red trucks, and resisting the temptation to try some wicked peelouts I'd seen in a video the day before, I finally arrived home yesterday afternoon.

Fortunately, the city had not been overrun by barbarians while I was gone. I know it's bound to happen sometime... the mayor has no contingency plans for it and as far as I know I am the only one who ever concerns himself with the possibility, so you can bet that everytime I leave that the neighboring barbarian hordes realize there is another opportunity for conquest.
